What is the turnaround time for my order?

Every single piece of jewellery is handmade by me from scratch. My usual turnaround is up to 3 weeks from placing your order but please do check the home page for any updates on this as this may increase at busier times. If you need your order by a certain date I will try my best to fit it in but please do contact me before placing an order.

How is the personalisation added to my jewellery?

Every letter and number is added individually using tiny letter stamps and a hammer. This process is different to engraving and gives a more hand made look. Letters and numbers may have slightly different depths and alignments, this should not be seen as a fault but rather a part of the hand made process. Please double check your personalisation before submitting your order.

What’s the best way to care for my jewellery?

The best way to protect your jewellery from tarnish is to wear it. Silver will naturally react with oxygen and chemicals so when it is not being worn be sure to store properly. A good way to store it is in a zip lock bag inside the box it is delivered in. Remember to remove your jewellery when sleeping, showering and swimming. If tarnish does occur this shouldn't be considered a fault, a quick rub with a silver polishing cloth with make your jewels sparkle again.

How do I measure my ring size?

The best way to check your ring size is to be measured by a jeweller. If you call into any jewellery shop they will measure your finger for you, alternatively if you are local to Halifax you can arrange to come to my studio to be measured.

When measuring it is important to think about the style of ring you are ordering. If you are buying a wider band or intend to stack several thin rings together you will need a slightly bigger size than one single thin stacking ring worn alone.

If you already have a ring which fits the finger you intend to wear the rings on you can measure the diameter of the ring and include that with your order.

What is gold filled?

Gold filled is a solid layer of gold which is bonded to a base metal. The quality of gold filled is much higher than gold plate and even with daily wear pieces will last for many years before any wear is apparent.

Gold filled offers the opportunity to have hard wearing gold pieces at a fraction of the cost of solid gold. I use gold filled in my designs to offer an accessible range of options however all pieces can also be made in any carat of solid gold. If you would like a quote for any piece please just get in touch.

I've seen a piece I like but need it to be slightly different, is that possible?

Of course! All of my pieces are designed and created by me so if you have any ideas how to alter a piece or would like some suggestions please just get in touch.

Why the name Hello Halfpenny?

When I first began making jewelleryin 2013 I often used old postcards and stamp in my work. Many of the old stamps were Halfpenny stamps hence the name and the lovely green of my logo. You might notice that all my collections are named after old and slang names for coins or money to link into the Halfpenny theme!
